HOPKINSVILLE, KY – A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to perform milling and paving along a section of South Virginia Street in Hopkinsville starting next week. Motorists should anticipate some delays and restrictions.
Crews will be milling both north and southbound U.S. 41 in downtown Hopkinsville next week, from Wednesday, July 29 through Friday, July 31 between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. Work is scheduled to proceed north from U.S. 41/South Virginia Street from Ninth Street (12.45 mm) to the Little River Bridge (12.9 mm), then south on North/South Main from the Little River to Ninth Street.
Paving will proceed in the same directions beginning Monday, August 3 from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. Work is expected to be completed by Wednesday, August 5.
No on-street parking will be allowed in the project area during operations.
