HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – An early morning crash involving a pedestrian left a man with severe injuries in Christian County.

The accident occurred around 4:30 a.m. Friday morning near the six-mile marker of I-169 near the Fort Campbell Boulevard exit heading southbound. (Pennyrile Parkway). Payton Rogers, spokesperson with the Hopkinsville Fire Department/EMS, said the pedestrian stepped out into traffic, and a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed struck him.

EMS found the male patient conscious on the scene, but with traumatic injuries to his head and body. Rogers told Christian County Now that he was stabilized and flown to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee by AirEvac LifeFlight.

Identifying information and more details about the crash have currently not been released by law enforcement.
