HOPKINSVILLE, KY – Dogs and cats of all ages, breeds, sizes are waiting to be adopted at the Christian County Animal Shelter. The shelter is at 2935 Russellville Road, and the phone number is 270-887-4175. Business hours are Tuesday-Saturday from 10:30-4 p.m. and the shelter is closed for lunch from 12:30-1 p.m.
Here are two animals the shelter recommends this week for adoption:
Meet Queen. She is a six year and two-month-old Labrador retriever mix that was adopted from us and recently returned because the previous owner was having allergies and asthma. She is good with other dogs and has done great with the dogs she has been kenneled with. She is even good with cats! She loves kiddos and enjoys meeting new people. She has been house trained and crate trained. She knows the commands “Sit”, “Stay”, and “Down”. She behaves well at the vet and while in a car! She has already been spayed and microchipped. She has been given her first round of vaccines and is heartworm negative as of 04/18/2024. She is now ready to find her new furr-ever home! Partially sponsored by PAWS in Lyon County, Inc. Queen’s adoption fee is $62.

Meet Gail. She is a two year old tabby DMH/Maine Coon mix that was brought to us as a stray. We are unsure how she is with other cats, dogs, or children as she was a stray and we have no way of knowing. She has been using her litter box here at the shelter. She has been given her first round of vaccines and is FLV/FIV/HW negative as of 04/16/2024. She is now ready to find her new furr-ever home. Gail’s adoption fee is $75.
