HOPKINSVILLE, KY – Dogs and cats of all ages, breeds, sizes are waiting to be adopted at the Christian County Animal Shelter. The shelter is at 2935 Russellville Road, and the phone number is 270-887-4175. Business hours are Tuesday-Saturday from 10:30 a.m.-4 p.m. and the shelter is closed for lunch from 12:30-1 p.m.
Here are two animals the shelter recommends this week for adoption:
Meet Ziggy! This fiery feline is a two-year-old Flame point Siamese, and goodness gracious she’s gorgeous! Ziggy was released to the shelter by her owner because they had too many cats in the home, but their loss is one lucky person’s win because this girl is an angel! Ziggy does great with kitty and doggie friends, she’s social and sweet and ready to make her way into your heart! Ziggy is litterbox trained and has had no issues keeping clean and tidy at the shelter! Ziggy has a great demeanor for children, she’s spunky and loving and will provide your kiddos with entertainment 24/7! Ziggy is FIV/FLV/HW NEGATIVE, vaccinated, and ready to pawty it up with you this summer! Come adopt Ziggy and fill your home with love and some very very loud purring! Ziggy’s adoption fee has been fully sponsored by Best Friend’s Animal Society.

Meet Copper B.! This dapper old man is a ten-year-old Labrador retriever mix, and boy is he handsome! In his old age, Copper was owner released to the shelter and we were not provided with a reason for surrender on his card, which is unfortunate because Copper has so much love to give! Copper’s owner gave us very little information about Copper, so we don’t for sure know how he does with cats or dogs in a home setting, but he seems to be one of those old gents that can make friends with everyone! Copper has done great with his kennel mate at the shelter, but he might be a bit too big for feline friends. Copper is a big old lug and has a gentle demeanor, so he would do well in a home with children as long as they can respect him back! We don’t know if Copper is house trained, but whoever said you can’t teach an old dog new tricks has never met clever Copper! Copper is HW negative, vaccinated, and is ready to make your home his own! If you’re looking to give a dog a new lease on life, and a place to retire comfortably, come adopt Copper today! Copper Burk’s adoption fee is no charge.
