HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Early Saturday morning, the Planters- Bank Sportsplex buzzed with excitement as pickleball players gathered to compete for a chance to win a medal and secure their spot in the 2025 Southern Pickleball Championships.

Armed with paddles and determination, participants flooded the courts, eager to showcase their skills and claim victory. “We are so stoked to have this here today,” said Amy Rogers, Executive Director of Visit Hopkinsville.

Rogers who has been working hard to make Hopkinsville a sports destination, previously shared that she continues to push for so many different initiatives whether it’s through sports, meetings, or conventions. “For me it is all about taking things to another level for our community,” she told Christian County Now.

While the tournament was in town, the public was invited to come watch the pickleball games for free all weekend long. The winners of the Big Dill in the Ville will earn a coveted invitation to the 2025 Southern Pickleball Championships, which will take place Dec. 31 through Jan. 4 in Macon, Georgia- home to the world’s largest indoor pickleball facility.
