HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Roadwork that will impact traffic in Hopkinsville has been announced, which includes extended lane closures on U.S. 68 starting on June 23.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet announced that this work is part of the $11.6 million project to widen 1.07 miles of U.S. 68 between KY 91 and KY 1007 (North Drive) to three lanes, with gutters and sidewalks.
Lane closures will start to occur as crews begin the process of installing new water service lines along the road, starting at the intersection of U.S. 68 (West Seventh Street) and KY 91, progressing eastward over time, according to KYTC. Motorists should expect daily lane closures as a result.
