HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – The Hoptown Half Marathon and 5K will be returning to downtown Hopkinsville October 19 with all proceeds being donated to the Dyslexia Association of the Pennyrile.

The Dyslexia Association of the Pennyrile is a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving individuals with dyslexia and other learning disabilities. The organization has been assisting families and individuals in the Christian County area for over 50 years. The association offers a variety of services including tutoring programs, dyslexic screenings, analysis and more.

The races slogan, Building Bridges to Reading, stood out to Hopkinsville Parks and Recreation during their search of a beneficiary since the race takes place along the Greenway Rail Trail and Walking Bridge.

“We are excited to partner with this group that has been impacting literacy in the Hopkinsville community for decades,” said HPR.

Participants can register for the race on the Hoptown Half Marathon and 5K website or make a donation to the Dyslexia Association directly. For more information, contact Hopkinsville Parks and Recreation at 270-887-4290.
