HOPKINSVILLE, KY – A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to close the northbound onramp from Martin Luther King Jr Way (KY 1682) to Interstate I-169 in Christian County beginning Friday, July 17.
The work is part of an ongoing project to update the cloverleaf-style ramps at Exit 11 to a modern diamond interchange. This style of on- and off-ramps provides motorists with longer acceleration and deceleration lanes and a better line of sight. This work is required as part of the Pennyrile Parkway’s upgrade to interstate status in recent years.

This closure will be in place for approximately four to five weeks while construction is completed and the new ramps are tied into the existing roadway.
There will be a marked detour in place. Motorists wishing to travel north on I-169 from Exit 11 will need to take the interstate south to Exit 9, then take the northbound on-ramp. This project is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2026.
