HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Three students from Christian County Public Schools will have their artwork showcased on a billboard in town, after winning a poster contest titled “Vaping is Not My Thing,” according to CCPS.
This year, Christian County Public Schools has put a zero-tolerance policy into effect. The policy states that any student caught with possession of vapor products will receive a citation from law enforcement for drug paraphernalia.
As part of the district’s initiative to help prevent the use of vaping products among students, several hundred posters were submitted. The posters were colorful and artistic with valuable information regarding the dangers of vaping.
Local leaders and organizations judged the contest and the winners were announced at the December board meeting. The top three winners in each age group were presented with a gift card.
Those who won fist place and whose artwork will be on a billboard include:
- Eliza McLaughlin, Indian Hills Elementary School
- Symphony Murray, Hopkinsville Middle School
- Sophia Wilson, Christian County High
