CHRISTIAN COUNTY, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Deputies with the Christian County Sheriff’s Office were called in response to a missing teenager in a pond Wednesday afternoon around 4 p.m.

According to Captain Payton Rogers with Hopkinsville Fire/EMS, a group of teens and children were swimming in a pond in southern Christian County, when a 15-year-old went missing under the water. CCSO says the water was 10 feet deep located at the 2200 block of Long Pond Road.

Deputies and EMS personnel searched the pond and successfully located her within 14 minutes. She was immediately pulled from the water and was given life saving measures.

A helicopter was called and she was flown to a Nashville hospital for medical treatment in stable condition. Several agencies collaborated for the rescue effort including Hopkinsville EMS, CCSO, Christian County Rescue, and the Pembroke Fire Department.
