HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – There’s a lot to choose from to do this weekend around Hopkinsville and Christian County including popping in at local bookstores, participating in a color run, going to an alumni game and more events.

Independent Bookstore Day

  • Where: The Book and Bottle Shop, Blush & Bashful Romance Bookshop, Corner Coffeehouse
  • When: April 25
  • Cost: Free to attend
  • Details: Celebration of independent bookstores featuring extended hours, specials, prizes and giveaways. Activities include participation in the Hopkinsville Bookstore Crawl with prizes for visiting multiple local shops.

Annual Color Run

  • Where: Hopkinsville Community College Emerging Technologies Building
  • When: April 25, 10:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m. (check-in 9:45–10:15 a.m.)
  • Cost: Free
  • Details: Family-friendly, untimed color run/walk celebrating health and community, with non-toxic colored powder along the course. The first 100 participants receive a T-shirt, sunglasses, swag bag, medal and more. Registration required by April 6; children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Hosted by Hopkinsville Community College.

Lady Colonels Alumni Game

  • Where: Christian County High School
  • When: April 25, 11 a.m.
  • Details: Alumni softball game featuring CCHS taking on Franklin Simpson, with varsity and JV games. Community invited to support the Lady Colonels and reconnect with former players. Hosted by Christian County High School.

Nerf Wars 2026

  • Where: Southside Church of Christ
  • When: April 25, 11 a.m.
  • Cost: $30
  • Details: Team-based Nerf battle event open to all duos, featuring a superhero theme, costume contest, food, prizes and more. Hosted by Joy Closet in partnership with local law enforcement.

Medieval to Modern: A Live Concert

  • Where: Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library
  • When: April 25, 2–3:30 p.m.
  • Cost: Free
  • Details: Live concert featuring music from medieval to modern eras, performed by Dr. Bill Koehler and pianist Amanda Huff-McClure. Open to all ages.

Spring Craft Fair

  • Where: Hopkinsville Brewing Company
  • When: April 26, 1–5 p.m.
  • Cost: Free to attend
  • Details: Seasonal craft fair featuring handmade goods, local vendors and unique items.
