CHRISTIAN COUNTY, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A 19-year-old from Springfield, Missouri was arrested Tuesday after he was found to be under the influence of alcohol during a crash on Interstate 24.

Deputies with the Christian County Sheriff’s Office were called to the 90-mile marker of I-24 eastbound in reference to a vehicle hitting a concrete barrier around 11 p.m., with the driver attempting to leave the scene of the accident.

In an arrest report, the deputy noted that they could smell the odor of alcohol when contact was initiated with the driver. A field sobriety test was conducted, and the driver was ultimately placed under arrest. An empty box of beer was located in the rear passenger floorboard with a beer nearby. THC marijuana wax and a bong were also found.

He was charged with DUI, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, and had no registration plates.
