HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – With a fundraising goal of $700,000, the United Way of the Pennyrile raised over $704,291 for their 2024-2025 campaign.
On Tuesday night, the United Way of the Pennyrile along with the community and partner agencies celebrated the end of their campaign at The Bruce Convention Center.
Many awards were given including the Chairman’s Awards, which were awarded to companies with the largest contributions in each division. Spirit Awards were presented to the companies with the largest percentage increase in giving in each division.
The United Way also passed out the People Helping People Awards, created to honor the organizations in the community which provided outstanding support to the United Way. The honor is usually given to those with outstanding campaigns, reflecting the true spirit of people helping people, explained Betsy Bond, President of the United Way of the Pennyrile.
The United Way also awarded two individuals with the J. William Flowers Award and the Beverly Whitfield Award for making a profound impact on the campaign and the community.
