HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Love is in the air as a Valentine’s Day themed market is set to come to the Clayton’s building in downtown Hopkinsville. Following the success of the Merry Little Market in November and December, co-organizer Patty Starbird is excited to bring back vendors and customers for round two.

“With not much going on in February, Clayton’s indoor space made it the perfect location to host another market,” Starbird shared with Christian County Now. The February market will feature two special events.

The Sweetheart Market will run from Feb. 7-8 and Feb. 13. Attendees can expect a variety of popcorn, sweet treats, desserts, cookies, and handmade items. Then, on Valentines Day, a Stupid Cupid Market will take over Clayton’s from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. “The idea behind this is not everybody shops ahead of time to get their items for their loves, also not everybody has a valentine- we want to show everybody love and celebrate everyone,” said Starbird.

The market will reopen at 4 p.m. for a community meet and greet with light refreshments and free entry. “It’s a chance to meet new friends, check out Clayton’s, and explore the downtown area,” she added.

Starbird also hopes to utilize Clayton’s again in the near future with a Spring Market. She says the market will be a bit bigger and run through March, April, and May. Vendors will be able to sign up and have the opportunity to set some items up for sale. “We want it to be classy, inviting, and very boutique, just to keep with the downtown theme and share our space.”

She also hopes to utilize the back patio behind Clayton’s to set up fruit, vegetables, baked goods, and plants on Saturday mornings. “We also hope to have a food truck on Sundays.” For more information, or to sign up as a vendor contact Patty Starbird at 270-305-3008.
