HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Amy Rogers, Office Manager of Visit Hopkinsville, told Kiwanis of Hopkinsville on Thursday that their staff has the singular goal of pulling people into Hopkinsville to showcase the amazing community.

Rogers and three others at Visit Hopkinsville had large shoes to fill after Brooke Jung moved away and stepped down from her position as director. After Ryan Clark took her place, the team has worked hard to introduce new programs and initiatives. During the Kiwanis meeting, Roger announced they are creating a West Kentucky Distillery tour, and will be collaborating with several other regional tourism bureaus to host activities for the Just Add Water and the Kentucky After Dark initiative.

As part of these initiatives, Rogers says they will be highlighting the Pennyroyal Scuba Diving Center and will be partnering with the museum to share the legend of the Kelly Green Men.

“All of our collaborations focus on special things unique to Hopkinsville like the rock quarry,” Rogers said. “It’s amazing to be able to promote and get our information out there.”

Visit Hopkinsville is also participating in the Larger than Life tour, which will feature large public art exhibits and novelty items for some oversized fun. “The tour will include checkpoints like our batter bowl, the huge stack of pancakes, and our wheat stock. People will come and find these amazing big pieces of artwork or whatever it may be,” said Rogers.

Rogers also shared she previously met with a travel writer from Sweden and gave him a tour of the local area. Following the writer’s visit, an article will be published about Hopkinsville in the national travel magazine, American Trails.
