HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – This weekend watch a flyball tournament, enjoy a craft fare at Casey Jones, have a paint party or learn from a local artist, and celebrate the 8th of August with the Museums of Historic Hopkinsville-Christian County.
Summer Splash Flyball Tournament: Flyball races match two teams of four dogs each, racing in side-by-side lanes over a 51-foot long course. Each dog must run in relay fashion down the jumps, trigger a Flyball box that releases a tennis ball, retrieve the ball, and return back over the jumps. Watch it at the Western Kentucky State Fairgrounds, 2810 Richard Street on Saturday, Aug. 3 at 7:30 a.m.
Craft Fare: Food fest featuring local eats and trucks with live music at Casey Jones Distillery, 2815 Witty Lane on Saturday, Aug. 3 from 9-9 p.m.
Kids Summer Paint Party: Join Dabbling DaVinci for a creative adventure where you can capture the essence of summer on a 14×20 canvas. Whether you’re celebrating a birthday or simply looking for a fun activity, this event is perfect for all young artists. The fun begins at Downtown Nutrition, 108 East 6 Street on Saturday, Aug. 3 from 10-11:30 a.m.
Still Life Painting with Tommy Fletcher: Participants will bring four to five objects to still life paint with artist Tommy Fletcher. Participants will also bring their own medium to use including acrylics, pastel, pencil, etc. Painting begins at First Presbyterian Church, East 9 Street on Saturday, Aug. 3 from 9-4 p.m. Tickets are $15-$30.
4th Annual 8th of August Emancipation Celebration: Join the museum with the Human Rights Commission in a celebration of freedom as they pay tribute to African American history. Located at the Museums of Historic Hopkinsville-Christian County, 310 East 9 Street, on Sunday, Aug. 4 from 1-4 p.m.
