HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Hear from local artists, bring the family to the fairgrounds for some fun, explore nature up close, celebrate the anniversary of Oak Grove, and support the local museum with a gala fundraiser. All happening this weekend!

Hoptown Idol: Participate or come downtown to hear live performances from local talent on Friday, Sept. 20 at 6 p.m. at Founders Square, 110 West 9 Street.

Annual Fall Pull and Demolition Derby: Enjoy a weekend packed full of entertainment with tractor and truck pulls, demolition derby on Friday and Saturday night at the WKSF, 2810 Richards Street. Tickets are $10 for grandstand seats, $15 for pit gate admission, pit parking is $20, children aged five and under are free. The gates will open at 6 p.m. with the pulls and derby starting at 7 p.m.

Naturefest:  Naturefest returns to Jeffers Bend, 1170 Metcalf Lane on Saturday, Sept. 21 from 1-5 p.m. Explore the grounds and immerse yourself in activities including face painting, birding, canoeing, and so much more!

Oak Grove 50th anniversary celebration:  Join the City of Oak Grove in a weekend celebration for their 50th anniversary. There will be a historical bus tour, a time capsule burial and a community wide picnic. The festivities begin Saturday Sept. 21-22 with a bus tour at the Oak Grove Community Center 1705 Thompsonville Lane, at 10 a.m.

Museum Gala: Metamorphosis, Hopkinsville in the 1910’s: This fundraising event supports the Museum and its mission to share the stories of our community through an inclusive dialogue about our history.  Museums of Historic Hopkinsville-Christian County, 310 East 9 Street, on Saturday Sept. 21 at 6 p.m.
