HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Summer starts Friday, and it’s kicking off a weekend of extreme heat. The National Weather Service as issued a Heat Advisory that is in effect from Saturday, June 21 through June 24.
Hot temperatures and humidity may cause the heat index to rise as high as 108 degrees. The first prolonged stretch of heat and humidity of the season will cause heat impacts to be greater than normal, according to NWS.
Highs will remain in the mid-90s well into next week.
