HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Units from the Hopkinsville Police Department responded to a two-vehicle crash on Thursday afternoon which resulted in the death of a woman and a man being severely injured.

The accident involved a motorcyclist and SUV and took place on Eagle Way Bypass and Pennyrile Parkway at around 4:45 p.m. The Hopkinsville Fire Department were some of the first responders that arrived at the collision site. Upon arrival at the scene, they found two adults, one female and one male in critical condition, according to HFD spokesperson Payton Rogers.

The two adults were then transported to Jennie Stuart Memorial Center. Rogers says the woman was pronounced dead by the coroner upon arrival to JSMC. However, the male was stabilized and flown to Skyline in Nashville in critical condition.

The driver of the SUV was not injured, and the roadway was closed for several hours until midnight while Hopkinsville Police Department investigated the crash site. No other information has been released at this time.
