CROFTON, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – April 19 will have one of many fish fries in Crofton as the city raises funds to maintain Gordon Park.
The beloved park is a Crofton staple that relies on fundraising for upkeep. It was dedicated to the memory of Ben and Tillie Gorden who lived in Crofton between 1912 and 1960. The park is 27 years old and requires regular maintenance during the season to maintain the flowers, paint, and equipment.
Christian County Magistrate John Bruce explained this is a great community event that will see about 300 people come through the third Friday of every month.
Through October, the fish fry will be at Gordon Park between 4:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. Cash or checks are accepted at $14 for adults and $6 for kid. Every dinner includes country fried fish, coleslaw, French fries, white beans, hushpuppies, a dessert and a drink.
