HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Christian County Public Schools has announced that Andrew Goins will be Hopkinsville Middle School’s principal, officially dropping the interim title.
Goins has served as interim principal at Hopkinsville Middle since February, according to a news release from CCPS. He has been with CCPS since 2013 and brings a total of 14 years of educational experience into his new role.
“With his strong leadership abilities, Mr. Goins is an excellent choice to lead Hopkinsville Middle School,” said Superintendent Chris Bentzel. “Mr. Goins has worked hard in the role of interim to establish a positive culture at HMS and to lead the building through the current facilities transition. We are confident in his potential for success and are excited to welcome him officially into the role of principal.”
Prior to serving at HMS, he served as an assistant principal at Freedom Elementary and Hopkinsville High. Before becoming an administrator, he was a history teacher at Hopkinsville High School.
“Hopkinsville Middle School has an incredible staff and student body,” said Goins. “This school year will bring lots of changes for Hopkinsville Middle with a new building and welcoming sixth graders into the HMS family. I am excited for all our students to experience this new location and new experiences at HMS. I am committed to putting students first and helping them reach their fullest potential.”
Goins is a graduate of Murray State University and University of the Cumberlands and holds two master’s degrees in education. He and his wife, Amanda, have one daughter, Alivia.
