Mary Lou Duke Johnson, 99, of Hopkinsville, KY died at 4:06 p.m. Friday, July 19, 2024 at her residence.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Ladd officiating. Burial will follow in Johnson’s Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday 5:00 -7:00 p.m. Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

A native of Christian County, KY she was born March 19, 1925 the daughter of the late Harry Duke, Sr. and Mary E. Bone Duke. She was a mother, homemaker and caregiver. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, sewing, cooking, reading, fishing and traveling. She was a member of Johnson’s Chapel Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Ellis Johnson; her son: Charles E. Johnson; her brothers: Horace Duke, Harry Duke, Jr., Hilton Duke, Harold Duke, John P. Duke, Cody Duke, Dan Duke, and James H. “Jim” Duke; and sister: Yeadie Vowell.

Survivors include her children: Donald (Sandra) Johnson, Alvin (Dana) Johnson, Annie (Beldon) Baker and Nancy (Lonnie) Patton all of Hopkinsville, KY; her daughter-in-law: Nettie Johnson; her grandchildren: Michael Baker, Anita (Scotty) James, Kristie (Mike) McGregor, Rhonda Moler, Chuck (Michele) Moler, Jason Johnson, Billy (Debbie) Johnson, David (Samantha) Johnson, Johnny Johnson, Steven Johnson, Jamey Adams, and Stephanie Hale and eighteen great grandchildren.
