HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – This weekend, downtown Hopkinsville will be filled with live music and food trucks as parks and recreation hosts the 8th annual Summer Salute Festival. After the festivities on Saturday, kick back and relax with Jeffers Bend and watch tiny hummingbirds up close.

Summer Salute Festival: Join Hopkinsville Parks and Recreation for the 8th annual Summer Salute festival in downtown Hopkinsville! With live music on Friday and Saturday night, the Fox Creek Carnival, food trucks and vendors, this is a favorite weekend in Hopkinsville! The fun begins on Friday Aug. 23-34 at 11 a.m.

2nd Annual Hummingbird Festival:  Jeffers Bend Nature Center is hosting the second annual Hummingbird Festival on Saturday, Aug. 25, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. The festival will feature a range of engaging activities including live hummingbird banding demonstrations. Visitors will have the unique opportunity to witness these tiny birds up close and learn about their migration patterns and behaviors.
