HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – The doors of Rural King are now open to the public as Hopkinsville’s newest retail store has a soft opening. At 7 a.m. on Oct. 24, employees greeted over a dozen customers lined up and ready to shop.

In usual Rural King fashion, each customer entering the store is welcome to free popcorn and coffee while they browse. The expansive space has clothing options, tools, outdoor and hunting gear, and select animals for sale including ducklings and rabbits. The grand opening and ribbon cutting for the store is set for Nov. 1, and they are open daily from 7 a.m. through 9 p.m. for regular hours leading up to it.

This new retail development is part of the recent renovation of the previously empty Bradford Square Mall on Fort Campbell Boulevard. Ashley Furniture is set to open this fall in the same strip, as well as a new commercial building being built adjacent to the mall. The Southwestern Kentucky Economic Development Council previously announced that the store is part of a nearly $8 million redevelopment of the mall.
