HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Around 6 p.m. on Oct. 7, Hopkinsville Fire and EMS were dispatched to the Hopkinsville Greenway in the area of Phelps Avenue and 13th Street in response to a woman injured near the North Fork Little River.
Emergency personnel arrived at the scene and found the woman partially in the water and unable to remove herself, according to HFD. Firefighters were able to clear the vegetation along the bank and entered the water.
The woman was successfully rescued using a stokes basket stretcher, and she was safely moved up the bank of the river. She was assessed for injuries but refused medical transportation.
