HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A 38-year-old Clarksville man was arrested and charged with terroristic threatening Monday evening following a lockdown at South Christian Elementary School earlier in the day.
The Christian County Sheriff’s Office and first responders responded to a possible threat at the school around lunchtime on Oct. 28 according to a news release from CCSO. The initial search yielded no credible threat to the school.
Public Information Officer Chris Miller clarified that the alleged threat was directed to one individual in relation to a violation of an Emergency Protective Order. A continued investigation led deputies to the suspect, who was found on Morningside Drive in Clarksville, Tennessee.
Several charges were placed against the suspect including terroristic threatening, violation of an EPO, and falsely reporting an incident. He is expected to be extradited to Christian County.
A statement from Christian County Public Schools said, “We thank all local and state law enforcement agencies for their prompt response and commitment to ensuring the safety of our students and staff. Safety remains our top priority.”
In a news release, deputies commended the collaborative efforts with the Clarksville Police Department, ensuring public safety and a swift resolution to this incident.
