HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A juvenile pedestrian was hospitalized on Tuesday night after being struck by a vehicle on Sanderson Drive near Holley Street in Hopkinsville.

The juvenile was walking with a friend along the side of the road when a vehicle hit them from behind just after 5:30 p.m. The 55-year-old driver told Hopkinsville Police that she did not see the pedestrian.

Police say the driver left the crash after the investigation and ran off the road into a ditch while trying to turn into her driveway. She was not injured in the crash and told officials she was shaken up from before.

Nathan Stewart, Deputy Fire Marshal for the Hopkinsville Fire Department said that EMS responded to the accident and treated the juvenile patient. They suffered from minor lower leg and head injuries and were transported to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for treatment.
