HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – The Hello Spring Festival is coming to downtown Hopkinsville, hosted by Vansauwa’s Tacos and Vegan Eats. This family-friendly festival will be from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, March 29 in Virginia Park on East Ninth and South Campbell streets.
Hello Spring Fest will feature delicious food, exciting entertainment, yard games and an interactive spring market with local vendors. Nearly 20 small businesses from across the region will be selling various handmade and trending products. This includes face/body painting, permanent jewelry, and herbal hair and skin products. The festival will also have an array of food and drink vendors on site.
“Our goal with Hello Spring Festival is to get people out of the house from the winter slump and back outside with family and friends,” said Zirconia Vansauwa, co-owner of Vansauwa’s Tacos and Vegan Eats, which is the organizing sponsor of the festival. “We didn’t want this to just be a vendor market, so we’re incorporating live music, and we asked each vendor to add an interactive element to their booth.”
Several live music performances will be on the grandstand in between sets by DJ Buddafly starting at 11 a.m., according to a news release. Xtreme HipHop with Lanora will lead line dancing at noon, and Padma Dharmata will teach yoga in the park with Bare Yogis at 2 p.m. Participants are encouraged to bring their own yoga mat while a few will be available to use.
Additional attractions at Hello Spring Festival include:
- Christian County Master Gardeners will be on hand to answer gardening questions and limited free seeds from the extension office just in time to get a home garden going.
- Hopkinsville Brewing Company will feature a beer garden for adults 21 and up.
- Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library will have a free creative makerspace in the park for all ages.
- The iconic HOPTOWN sign from the Hopkinsville-Christian County Convention and Visitors Bureau will be onsite for photos.
