HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Weather permitting, there are several events going on in Hopkinsville this weekend. Watch a free movie in the park, attend a Juneteenth lecture series, check out some local artisans, or have a magical night at a local bookstore.

Movies in the Park presents Mufasa: On June 13, Hopkinsville Parks and Recreation will continue their Movies in the Park series at Debow Recreational Complex with a giant inflatable screen for FREE. This year’s series will feature food trucks, bouncers, and family activities with the Hopkinsville-Christian County Library beginning at 6 p.m. Mufasa will begin at sundown!

Golden Night at The Book and Bottle Shop: Kick off the end of your work week with a soothing evening at The Book & Bottle Shop on June 13 at 6 p.m. With candlelight, live classical piano from Nick Erickson, and a calming atmosphere, what better way is there to end the week? The Golden Nights experience is open to guests over the age of 16. Guests are encouraged to dress in smart casual clothing to enhance the lounge-style atmosphere. Tickets and reservations are not required

Juneteenth Lecture Series: On June 14 at 3 p.m., the Devine Nine is presenting a lecture series for Juneteenth. With the theme of The Power of Resilience: Celebration, Education, and Unity, this will be held at the Pioneer’s Inc. Memorial Complex at 904 North Main Street. Their Guest Speaker will be John F. Baker Jr., the author of The Washingtons of Wessyngton Plantation: Stories of My Family’s Journey to Freedom. Books will be available for purchase after the presentation.

Hopkinsville Farmers Market: Find locally grown healthy produce, fresh-cut flowers, proteins, baked goods, bourbon & spirits, handcrafted items & more! From 9 a.m.- 12 p.m. at Founders Square in downtown Hopkinsville on Saturday.

The Village Market in Hopkinsville: On June 14 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., come and shop a large assembly of local farmers providing seasonal produce, meats, plants, herbs, bakers, local artisans, boutiques, small businesses, food trucks. This will be at The White House at 1720 Marie Drive.
