HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – The first day of summer for 2025 will bring along extremely high temperatures to Christian County, with the heat index expected to rise into the triple digits.
The National Weather Service in Paducah says this weekend will be the hottest temperatures of the season. With the first day of summer on Friday, the forecast currently shows temperatures reaching high 80s and mid 90s between June 20-23. However, increased humidity will raise the heat index to 101 degrees on Saturday, and up to 105 degrees on Sunday.

The National Weather Service in Paducah warns that there will be an elevated risk of heat related health impacts with the sudden heat. NWS shared that young children, babies, older adults, and those who are pregnant can be more prone to being affected. As temperatures rise, Christian County residents are also reminded to never leave pets and children in hot cars.
