New Hopkinsville restaurant The Crumb Tray creates cozy menu inspired by community

HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Hopkinsville native Martha White is opening Hopkinsville’s newest restaurant, The Crumb Tray, with cozy vibes and unforgettable flavors. Located on West Seventh Street and officially open to the public on Sept. 5, they will be welcoming in the community by serving delicious hot sandwiches, bold homecooked dishes, and brunch.

“This is Hopkinsville’s restaurant,” White told Christian County Now, pointing out nods to the community on the menu with the Bird Dog sandwich that is packed with fried chicken, bacon, and cheese, and her take on a Kentucky staple with the Hoptown Hot Brown.

“Cooking has kind of always been my love language,” she said, explaining that she was inspired by her dad’s entrepreneurial spirit when she decided to open the restaurant. “You kind of get stuck in a day job working for someone else, and that’s not a passion. So, I just wanted to do something for me.”

When creating the menu, she aimed to load it with options that are hard to find in the city at an affordable price. She has several hot, grilled sandwich options like a pepperoni grilled cheese with pesto, a salmon grilled cheese, chicken parm melt, pulled pork sandwich, and a fried fish sandwich. In addition, The Crumb Tray offers big plates of spaghetti and fish, shrimp and grits, fettuccini alfredo, chicken and waffles, along with appetizers, desserts, a full bar and more.

The restaurant will be open for brunch on the weekends with a menu that includes breakfast burritos, waffles, tater tot breakfast nachos, and pancakes.

“For me, food is like a hug from the inside…most of the things on the menu are things that I like,” White said. With the support of her three kids and her boyfriend, she has been putting in the hours to get the space ready for opening day. Through all the hard work she remains positive and hopes to inspire customers by displaying affirmations at every table.
