HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – While the anticipated Hoptown at Night event has been canceled, this weekend in Hopkinsville there are a few fun events to check out including a celebration of 20 years of Twilight, auditions for a local play, a pet adoption event for the whole family, and a book signing.
Christmas Carol auditions Campanile Productions
- When: Oct. 4 from 9 a.m. to noon
- Where: 401 West Ninth Street, Hopkinsville, Kentucky
- Cost: Free
- Details: Actors ages eight and up can audition for this winter’s production of A Christmas Carol from Campanile Productions. All parts are open for auditions, and actors should bring a 16-32 bar of a song, with callbacks invited back on Oct. 5. Audition forms should be filled out prior to the day.
Book Signing with Colleen Conklin
- When: Oct. 4 from 9 a.m.- 4 p.m.
- Where: Blush & Bashful Romance Bookshop
- Cost: Free admission
- Details: Community members can meet author Colleen Conklin and discuss her newly released book while purchasing a signed copy.

- Where: Christian County Animal Shelter
- Cost: Admission is free
- Details: The annual Howl-O-Ween Event features microchips for $16, nail trims for $15, and reduced adoption fees of $50 plus tax. Guests can enjoy food trucks, vendors, and (weather permitting) a bounce house for kids. All proceeds support the shelter’s GET EM DONE program to help get shelter animals spayed and neutered.

- Details: Celebrate two decades of the Twilight Saga with collector’s editions, fun vampy activities, and themed treats. Activities include a Forks scavenger hunt, Edward and Bella look-alike contest, Twilight blackout poetry, and vendor offerings such as a makeup artist, permanent jewelry, and hair tinsel. Enjoy Bloody Red Velvet Cupcakes and connect with fellow fans for an evening of Twilight-themed fun.
