HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – More details have been released about a Wednesday night crash that severely injured a man and his young daughter in north Christian County.
The driver of a pickup truck was traveling down the 13500 block of Madisonville Road around behind a slow-moving farm tractor that was occupied by 37-year-old Seth Yoder and his six-year-old daughter of Crofton, according to a collision report from the Christian County Sheriff’s Office. The truck, driven by a Crofton man, rearended the tractor at a speed of around 55 mph, causing the tractor to flip on its side into a ditch.
When deputies and emergency crews arrived, the man and his daughter were trapped inside the tractor with visible head and face injuries. Yoder was unresponsive while be extricated from the tractor. Hopkinsville Fire Department/EMS and the Crofton Volunteer Fire Department assisted on the scene along with a Kentucky State Trooper.
Yoder and his daughter were flown to separate hospitals in Nashville, Tennessee via LifeFlight helicopter for treatment, their current condition is unknown. CCSO noted in the collision report that the tractor did have the proper reflective warning device, although it is possible one rear light was out during the time of the crash.
The driver of the truck was determined to not be under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance, and no charges have been filed.
