HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – The holiday season is in full swing in Hopkinsville and Christian County with a variety of events to check out. Watch a musical at The Alhambra, head over to Oak Grove for a parade and tree lighting, visit a holiday market, and check out downtown Hopkinsville’s nighttime Christmas parade.
A Christmas Carol, The Musical
- When: Dec. 11–14
- Where: Alhambra Theatre
- Cost: Tickets range from $15-$25
- Details: Campanile Productions and the Pennyroyal Arts Council bring Charles Dickens’ classic to life in this musical adaptation. The 90-minute production features local and regional performers and has become a cherished holiday tradition in Hopkinsville. Tickets are on sale now online through Campanile Productions.

- Where: War Memorial Walking Trail in Oak Grove
- Details: Kick off the holiday season in Oak Grove with the Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting Celebration. The parade features a decorated float competition with participants from local businesses, city departments, and community organizations. Following the parade, enjoy the Tree Lighting Ceremony led by Santa. Visitors can grab hot cocoa and cookies before visiting Santa’s Workshop at the 1800s Schoolhouse for photos and holiday fun.

Participate in a free Christmas craft. From 3-6 p.m., capture holiday memories in a micro-photo session with Honey & Grunge Co. ($10 per session). From 6:30-8:30 p.m., warm up with live holiday music from the Isotti-Mossey Duo.

- Details: Celebrate the life and legacy of Jane Austen with tea, Regency-era crafts, and an afternoon of literary fun. This birthday event is designed for ages 13 and older.
Holiday Sweets & Treats Market
- When: Dec. 13 from 1–7 p.m.
- Where: Hopkinsville Brewing Company, 102 E. 5th St., Hopkinsville
- Cost: Free
- Details: Hosted by Vansauwa’s Tacos & Vegan Eats, this family-friendly indoor/outdoor market features local vendors, handmade gifts, seasonal treats, festive activities, and food. Hopkinsville Brewing Company will offer beverages, and the Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library will provide free holiday face painting. The market coincides with the city’s Nighttime Christmas Parade at 5 p.m., making it a prime spot to enjoy the festivities.
HES/EnergyNet Night Christmas Parade
- When: Dec. 13 at 5:15 p.m.
- Where: Downtown Hopkinsville
- Details: With the Christmas Vacation theme, the parade will have floats, marching bands, community groups, and local groups participating in a dark parade decorated with lights.
6th Annual Santa Claus Is Coming to Hoptown
- When: Dec. 14 at 1 p.m.
- Where: Downtown Hopkinsville neighborhoods
- Cost: Free
- Details: Santa will cruise through Hopkinsville aboard a Hopkinsville Fire Department truck, with escort from Hopkinsville Police. He will be waiving to families waiting outside, and goody bags will be handed out. Families can track his route at hoptownrec.com.
