HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – With Christmas just 10 days away, The Salvation Army of Hopkinsville is reaching out to the community with an urgent and heartfelt plea: help make sure no Angel is forgotten this Christmas.
“Behind every Angel is a child who is hoping someone will show up for them,” said Lt. David Donegan, Corps Officer of The Salvation Army of Hopkinsville. “Our community has always stepped up in incredible ways. Right now, we are simply asking, once again, help us make sure no child wakes up on Christmas morning feeling forgotten.”
This year, their Angel Trees carried an overwhelming number of Angels, each one representing a real child in Christian County, with many Angels still waiting to be chosen. According to a news release from the Salvation Army, the local need this year has exceeded anything they have seen in recent years, and they are asking Hopkinsville and the surrounding communities to come together once more to help fill the gap.
