CHRISTIAN COUNTY, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A primary election in Christian County will be held in May, with many county and city positions set to be on the ballot. So far, the Christian County Judge Executive Jerry Gilliam is running unopposed, while the Hopkinsville mayoral seat has two possible candidates. Sheriff, city council, and magistrate candidates have also been announced.
The window to file for candidacy opened on Nov. 5, with the final day to file quickly approaching after the holiday season on Jan. 9 at 4 p.m. The 2026 primary will be held on May 19, with early voting leading up to Election Day.
