HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – The City of Hopkinsville has released its
2025 Year-in-Review, a comprehensive report highlighting how city departments, utilities, and agencies have served the community throughout the year.
“I couldn’t be more proud of our team,” said Troy Body, City Administrator and Chief of Staff. “They have expertly achieved what we set out to accomplish. They have no equal in the Commonwealth. We work daily to ensure and maintain the trust, respect, and confidence of the taxpayers we are privileged to serve.” Mayor Knight added, “This Year-in-Review reflects the dedication of our city employees and community partners and their continued commitment to serving the people of Hopkinsville.”
In a news release, the city shared the following statistics regarding public safety, and emergency responses.
Hopkinsville Police Department highlights
- Zero homicides in 2025, the first year without a murder since 2008. Credited to full staffing, increased law enforcement presence, collaboration with federal agencies, and stronger communication and cooperation with the Hopkinsville community.
- Answered 43,869 calls for service across the community.
- Worked 919 traffic collisions to improve roadway safety.
- Issued 3,934 citations and made 2,294 arrests.
- Seized significant amounts of illegal narcotics and 114 firearms, leading to 24 federal indictments and multiple state indictments through strong local and federal partnerships.
Hopkinsville Fire/EMS highlights
- Responded to 4,077 fire calls and 11,307 EMS calls.
- Addressed 1,862 code incidents to improve safety and compliance.
- Demolished 27 unsafe structures.
- Busiest stations: Fire-Station 3 | EMS-Station 1.
- Supported public safety through rapid response and coordinated care.
- Opened Fire Station 5 providing additional fire coverage for the first time in over 24 years.
- Facilitated one of the nation’s largest paramedic programs with over 100 students.
Public Works | Parks and Recreation | Sportsplex highlights
- April 2025 Flood Response: Crews dedicated 900+ staff hours to flooding response and cleanup efforts.
- Resurfaced 7.1 miles of city streets and replaced 2,630 feet of sidewalks.
- Completed 64 drainage projects to reduce localized flooding.
- Led the construction of Rotary Park on Pardue Lane, delivering an inclusive playground
- Planted 68 trees and hosted 60+ community events and tournaments.
- Advanced staff training and Public Works accreditation efforts.
