HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – The shopping scene in downtown Hopkinsville is about to welcome a massive addition as Bluegrass Vendor Mall prepares to open their doors to the public on March 16. With space for over 70 vendors, this new business hopes to attract antique and craft enthusiasts from across the region.

“Hopkinsville has been going through a revamp downtown for the last few years, and we just want to be a part of that,” store manager Jeramie Heady told Christian County Now. Their vendors are offering a variety of antique and handmade items as well as boutique selections. Located just beyond the train tracks on East 9th Street, the vendor mall is situated within walking distance of the Pennyroyal Area Museum and other shops.

The Lexington based owners are simultaneously opening another location in the city of Berea leading up to the opening in Hopkinsville. A tour of the building, which expands several thousand square feet, is able to accommodate a variety of vendors both big and small.

“You can see the creativity just in how they design their booths. They’ve got an eye for art and an eye for picking antiques for collecting,” Heady said, adding that the vendors have joined them from across Kentucky, all of which have been very supportive each other while setting up.

To encourage tourism and outside visitors, the vendor mall hopes to be part of the Kentucky Antique Trail, which connects shops from multiple counties in the region, reaching cities like Cadiz through Paducah. The trail also extends nationwide.

Vendors still have a chance to sign up ahead of the grand opening, with space still available. After they open on March 16, business hours will be Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 323 East Ninth Street in Hopkinsville.
