OAK GROVE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – An elaborate bank fraud scheme in Oak Grove is continuing to unfold as second suspect is apprehended. Police in Illinois took an Indiana resident into custody based on a warrant issued by Christian County Courts for his involvement in a theft at the Oak Grove Navy Federal Credit Union.

In a news release on April 23, Oak Grove Police investigators allege that 55-year-old Wendell Christmas of Merrillville, Indiana played a key role in coordinating and recruiting individuals to assume stolen identities to steal funds from unsuspecting victims. Working with his accomplice, police say Christmas was able to steal over $25,000 from a victim in Oak Grove.

On October 7, 2025, the Oak Grove Police Department was contacted by Navy Federal Credit Union regarding fraudulent transactions occurring in a client’s account originating from the Oak Grove branch. Following the issuance of subpoenas, interviews, and subsequent investigations, authorities determined that a network of individuals was responsible for the fraudulent activity.

Christmas is the second person arrested in this case. The investigation initially determined that 26-year-old Ke’andrea Edmondson of Madison, Tennessee, was one of the principal parties involved in the scheme. In collaboration with the Nashville Police Warrant Division, she was taken into custody and extradited to Kentucky to face charges in mid-March.

Christmas is awaiting extradition from Illinois to Kentucky to face charges of Theft by Unlawful Taking over $10,000 and unlawful access to a computer.
