HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – There are a lot of events to check out this weekend in Hopkinsville and Christian County including some Derby themed activities, a bookstore after dark event, a plant sale, baby prom, free concert and more.
| DERBY EVENTS: Kentucky Derby comes to Christian County with festive viewing parties
Pennyrile Area Community Band Spring Concert
- When: May 1 at 6 p.m.
- Where: Christian County Middle School Performing Arts Center
- Cost: Free admission, donations accepted.
- Details: A free musical performance with the band comprised of local musicians including band directors, former band members and students.
Bookstore After Dark: Romantasy
- When: May 1 from 8 p.m. to midnight
- Where: The Book and Bottle Shop
- Cost: $15 pre-registration
- Details: After-hours shopping experience featuring romantasy books, themed cocktails, live DJ, interactive performers, permanent jewelry, henna/body art, photo experiences and a best dressed contest. Open for ages 16 and up; space is limited.
Downtown Farmers Market Season Start
- When: May 2 from 8 a.m. to noon
- Where: Founders Square in downtown Hopkinsville
- Cost: Free admission
- Details: Come downtown for the first downtown market of the season on their new Saturday schedule.
- When: May 2 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- Where: The Bloomery
- Cost: Free admission, cost of plants vary
- Details: They will be selling a variety of native and pollinator plants for only two Saturday’s in May. Hanging baskets and ferns will also be available at the greenhouse.

- When: May 2, 10 a.m.
- Cost: Free
- Details: Outdoor yoga session offering a relaxing, nature-filled experience. Hosted by Hopkinsville Parks and Recreation and Balance Hoptown.
- Where: Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library
- When: May 2, 10 a.m.
- Cost: Free
- Details: Family-friendly event for children ages five and under featuring prom-themed fun, including crafts, dancing, refreshments and photos. Siblings welcome. Presented by the Hopkinsville-Christian County Imagination Library.
Jeep Meets and Eats with Live Music: Kentucky Tim
- Where: Camo Caravan
- When: May 2, 4–6 p.m.
- Cost: Free admission plus cost of food and drinks.
- Details: Casual, family-friendly Jeep meet-up with live music by Kentucky Tim, plus food and drink options available. Hosted by Hopkinsville Jeep Club.
