OAK GROVE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – The 2nd Annual Corgi Race, hosted by Oak Grove Racing, Gaming & Hotel, brought a large crowd to the track on Mother’s Day. Taking place in between the harness horse races, the Corgi Race brought dog owners and lovers to see the pups race for the first-place medal.

Many community members were seen in their Sunday best enjoying the sunshine and races. In addition, a 50/50 raffle took place during the event to raise money for the Christian County Humane Society. A portion of merchandise sales also supported the cause.

Darren Vandover, General Manager of Oak Grove Racing, Gaming and Hotel said the Corgi Race is an exciting way to add to the Mother’s Day festivities and brought a great crowd last year.

After a successful first event last year and a lot of popular demand, Oak Grove Racing, Gaming & Hotel decided to make the Corgi Race an annual event. Next on the calendar is the Weiner Dog Race on Memorial Day weekend, May 25.

All dogs of each breed are invited to participate, regardless of ability. Spots are limited and vaccination records must be included with registration. Dogs can be signed up on the Oak Grove Racing, Gaming & Hotel website.
