CHRISTIAN COUNTY, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Police are investigating a fatal stabbing that occurred overnight. A Hopkinsville man is now facing a murder charge after initially fleeing the scene.
Around 1:30 a.m. on July 4, emergency services and law enforcement responded to the 2000 block of Butler Road. An adult man was found with four stab wounds, according to Payton Rogers with Hopkinsville Fire/EMS.
Life saving measures were attempted, but he was pronounced deceased and the Christian County Coroner was called to the scene. They identified the victim as 42-year-old John Anthony Foster of Hopkinsville, who resided on Butler Road.
41-year-old Julian Bell of Hopkinsville has been arrested in connection to the stabbing and is facing an assault and murder charge at this time. An arrest report from CCSO says Bell and Foster were involved in an argument over a past relationship. After it escalated, Bell stabbed him in the chest and stomach with a knife.
During the altercation, another individual attempted to intervene, and she received a critical injury to her hand. Bell fled the scene and was later apprehended by officers with the Hopkinsville Police Department on West Seventh Street.
