HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Debow Park was filled with community members on Sept. 12 for the second annual Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library’s Battle of The Badges Kickball Tournament.
The event is part of an effort to thank first responders for their hard work and dedication to the community. First responders from Hopkinsville Police Department, Christian County Sheriff’s Office, and Hopkinsville Fire Department joined kids aged 8-17 in separate teams for some friendly competition.
Children were able to pick the team they wanted to join and engage with notable community figures while parents and family members were seen on the sidelines cheering on athletes.
The Hopkinsville Police Department came out on top during the tournament and was named the 2026 winner for the second year in a row.
