HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A building in Hopkinsville was damaged after a vehicle drove into the side of a gas station Sunday evening.

On Oct. 25 around 6:30 p.m., the Hopkinsville Fire Department and EMS responded to the Circle K gas station by Gateway Lane and Lafayette Road in response to a vehicle versus building crash.

The vehicle was parked, accelerated and collided with the building resulting in minor damage to the interior and exterior of the gas station, according to HFD. It is suspected that the driver suffered from a medical episode when the crash occurred.

The driver was transported to Jennie Stuart Medical Center and firefighters secured the affected area of the building to ensure its stability. HFD says the store will remain open while repairs are made.
