HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – The Alhambra Theatre is showing several holiday movies this December beginning with The Polar Express this weekend.
The Polar Express will be shown on Saturday Dec. 9 from 2-5 p.m. The movie will end just before the start of the Hopkinsville Electric Christmas Parade downtown. Admission is free and candy and popcorn will be available for sale. Santa Claus will also make an appearance for pictures and Christmas fun.
On Sunday, Dec. 17, Alhambra Theatre will be showing Home Alone from 6-8 p.m. The holiday classics continue with Elf on Monday, Dec. 18, at 6-8 p.m., and How the Grinch Stole Christmas on Tuesday, Dec. 19, at 6-8 p.m.
The holiday showings will end with It’s a Wonderful Life on Wednesday, Dec. 20. All tickets are $5 and concessions will be available for purchase at the venue.
The theatre has been film ready since 2013, explains Executive Director Margaret Prim. “Our attendance is usually around 75 with It’s a Wonderful Life double that,” Prim said.
