HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A person was injured in a single vehicle accident on Canton Street Monday morning.
Slick road conditions caused the vehicle to swerve off the roadway and hit a light pole. The vehicle was severely damaged, and crews worked for almost half an hour to extricate the person from the driver’s seat, according to Hopkinsville Fire Department. A helicopter from Air Medical was requested on the scene but was unable to fly due to the weather. The driver was then taken to Jennie Stuart Health with severe injuries.
Hopkinsville Fire Department is encouraging people to stay off the roadways or limit travels.
