William “Bill” Gentry, 82, of Fairview, KY passed away at 1:13 p.m. Thursday, January 25, 2024 at his residence.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 29, 2024 at Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home with Rev. Ron Hicks officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
A native of Hopkinsville, KY he was born July 5, 1941 the son of the late Edward and Mary Louise Gentry. He worked 17 years as an EMT for the Hopkinsville Fire Department and was also a self-employed painter. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Fairview, KY where he served as Trustee and Historian.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two children: Angela and Sonja Gentry; his brother: Bob Gentry; and a grandchild.
Survivors include his wife: Judy Gentry; his daughters: Karen Gentry (Jason) Brooks of Houston, TX, Wendy Michelle Gentry of Virginia, and Rebecca (Doug) Evans of Houston, TX; his stepsons: David (Maggie) Futrell of Centerton, AR and Mike (Pam) Futrell of Huntsville, AL; 11 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Bethel Baptist Church or Pennyroyal Hospice.
