Pat Shields, age 83, of Hopkinsville, KY passed away Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at Deaconess Midtown in Evansville, IN, of natural causes. Funeral Services will be on Monday, March 4, 2024, at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Home at 1:00 PM with burial to follow in Green Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM on Monday, March 4, 2024. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family to handle the arrangements.
Mr. Shields was born on June 27, 1940, in Jackson County, IL, the son of the late Lawernce and Margaret Leinicke Sheilds. Pat worked as a field inspector for JT Blackship Engineering. He was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepson, Kelly Minton, his brothers, Richard Shields, Kenneth Shields, and James Shields.
Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Ann Shields of Hopkinsville, KY; his stepsons, Brad Minton (Linda) of Hopkinsville, KY, Phillip Minton (Sheila) of Argyle, TX, Chuck Minton (Ashley) of Hopkinsville, KY; his brothers, Thomas Shields (Linda) of Rockwood, IL, Michael Shields (Kathy) of Smithon, IL; his sister, Lois Shields of Chester, IL; his three grandchildren; and his four great-grandchildren.
