HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) â As the school year starts for Christian County Public School, here are five things to know while students head back to the classroom.
This includes the district’s policy on cell phone use, traffic flow around the new high school, start times, registration help and school board information.
1. No phones in Christian County Public Schools
Christian County Public Schools will continue its strict ban on cell phones and electronic devices for the 2026-27 school year. This was implemented in the previous school year to be in compliance with House Bill 208. This includes phones, smart watches and headphones.
Christian County High School students will continue to place their phones in Yondr pouches at the beginning of the school day, which will make them inaccessible during instruction. Middle school students will be expected to keep devices in their lockers or advisory classrooms. Elementary students must keep devices in their backpacks or cubbies.
Exceptions for phone use may be made for students with specific medical needs. For all other students, if issues arise during the day they are encouraged to reach out to a trusted staff member to facilitate communication with a guardian.

2. Changes for high school traffic flow
Christian County Public Schools has shared the traffic pattern for the new Christian County High School. Vehicles that are dropping off students in the morning will enter from Lovers Lane and proceed down Tiger Way, which will be a one way.

Visitor parking is at the front of the building at Parking Lot A. Student drivers will take their vehicles to Parking Lot C behind the school. Signage has been posted on the campus to direct drivers.
Busses have their own entrance from Lovers Lane which will take students to Parking Lot D. During dismissal, vehicles should not line up before 2:45 p.m. Drivers are reminded to be patient as the new traffic pattern is established.
3. Start times for elementary, middle, and high school
Students should check with their individual schools for specific drop-off information and transportation details. Drop off for car riders generally starts 30 minutes before the start of the school day.

- Middle schools: 8:25 a.m. to 3:25 p.m.

5. Know your school board representative, how to contact administration
Contact information for principals and administrative staff can be found on individual school websites and the ParentSquare app where families are able to directly address possible concerns or have questions answered.
