HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Christian County High School celebrated its first-ever homecoming parade Sunday afternoon in downtown Hopkinsville.
The parade began at the Christian County Justice Center and traveled through downtown before returning to the Justice Center for a community pep rally.

Rylee Owens served as the parade’s grand marshal and expressed her appreciation for the opportunity to take part in the school’s inaugural celebration. “It feels really like a big opportunity. I’m grateful for it,” Owens said.
“The community did so much for me while I was gone. So this is just a way to give back to the community and show my support.” Owens said seeing people along the parade route recognize her and call out her name was a meaningful experience. “It warmed my heart,” Owens said. She also spoke about the support she has received from the Hopkinsville community. “I love it here,” Owens said.
The parade was the beginning of Christian County High School’s homecoming week, which will feature several athletic events, including district soccer tournaments, volleyball’s Senior Night and a Friday night football matchup against McCracken County.
